Questions people ask
How do I calculate my karmic tail?
Reduce your day, month and the digit sum of your birth year to numbers from 1 to 22. Add the three to get the bottom point D, and add all four to get the center E (reduce any sum above 22 by adding its digits). The tail is then D + E, D plus that result, and D itself, written from the center outwards. The calculator above does all of this for you.
How many karmic tails are there?
There are exactly 26. The tail depends only on the sum of your day, month and year numbers, and checking every date from 1940 to 2015 produces the same 26 codes and no others.
Why is my karmic tail written backwards on some sites?
Some calculators list the tail from the bottom corner up (for example 5-20-15 instead of 15-20-5). The numbers are the same. Here the code is read from the center outwards, which is how it is usually searched.
Can my karmic tail change?
No. It comes from your date of birth, so it stays the same for life. What changes is how you live it: the same tail can show up as an old struggle or as a strength you have worked through.
