Destiny Matrix calculators disagree on a handful of details. This page states which method we use and why, so you can check any number on your chart by hand.
The method
We follow the method of Natalia Ladini, who developed the Destiny Matrix in 2006, as implemented in her own online calculator. We reproduced that calculator's logic and compared it with ours on every date from 1900 to 2100 with no differences, and checked five reference dates against two further independent calculators.
The reduction rule
Every point is a number from 1 to 22. When a sum is larger than 22, add its digits together, and repeat until the result is 22 or less. So 23 becomes 5, 29 becomes 11, and the year 1992 becomes 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 = 21. Some calculators subtract 22 instead; that gives different numbers and is not the original method.

Where calculators differ, and what we chose
- Bottom point D. A few calculators take the digit sum of the whole date. We use A + B + C, as in the original.
- Ancestral inner points. Some add the corner to the personal center E. We add it to the ancestral center U.
- Energy map, second chakra. We use the inner points C2 and D2, not C1 and D1.
- Emotion column total. We sum the seven emotion values rather than adding the two other totals.
- Couple chart. Every point of the two charts is added pair by pair, the center included. Purposes are then calculated from the summed points.
The age scale
The eight outer corners mark ages 0 to 70 in steps of ten, clockwise from the day point (A at 0, F at 10, B at 20, G at 30, C at 40, H at 50, D at 60, I at 70). Between two corners, the midpoint (corner + next corner) marks age 5 of that decade, and further sums split each decade into periods of one to one and a half years.
Test it yourself
June 23, 1992 gives A = 5, B = 6, C = 21, D = 5, E = 10 and the karmic tail 15-20-5. June 24, 1997 gives 6, 6, 8, 20, 4 and the tail 6-8-20. Across all dates from 1940 to 2015 there are exactly 26 different karmic tails, and the center takes 16 of the 22 possible values.
